I have completed my commissioned piece of ET from the classic 1980s movie, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. Which Red Lunar Records is using for the RLR002 EP and is being released this Monday!
Monday 23/03/2015 Red Lunar Records is an innovative, newly established record label aiming to bring a unique and underground music experience, developed through years of friendship, hard work and a love for all things party orientated. Liam Milburn and Richard Heiniger (founders of successful Newcastle based event 'LOOP', alongside artist 'Jacky (UK)' have formed a label as a result of their passion, forward thinking attitude and hunger for quality music. Their second addition to the Red Lunar Records catalogue comes from an artist who caught their eye a while back now, SASCHA SONIDO, with his amazing ‘I Believe’ EP. The leading track ‘I Believe’ sets the bar pretty high straight away, kicking the release off with a huge growling bass and loads of movement with the hats and snares. A real techy monster. 'Underground' brings the tempo back down in style with superb drum work, a massive rolling bass line and effective vocal FX - an absolute groover that will go off in the club for sure. We also have two remixes coming from two Italian artists who are smashing it at the moment, ATOVE and KATAL. Both lads putting their own spin on the originals and both hit the nail on the head. Proper, peak time, dance floor killers. This release also features a commissioned piece of artwork exclusively for Red Lunar Records, from the impressive creative, Electra Costa. TheNorthBeat Interview RLR002 EP Sweet Art's Y Not? Espacio Gallery 31st March - 5th April PV Thursday 2nd April, 6pm - 9pm I am once again working with the amazing sugar and spice team that is Sweet Art's. Two of my works Wild Captive Woman and Redhead have just been selected to be apart of the Y Not? exhibition. I'm developing quite the sweet tooth. Join Sweet ‘Art in March for their next hotly anticipated show Y Not?, a multi media exhibition in aid of International Women’s Day. Y Not? will explore the theme of femininity, feminine identity and women’s day with a focus on the female form, gender identity, feminist issues, social and political issues and constructs and personal accounts and perspectives. Works will celebrate, critique, challenge, ridicule and reflect notions of femininity in our society and internationally, created by artists identifying as any gender. This time Sweet ‘Art will be partnering with two amazing creative organisations. Lensational, who empower women emotionally and economically through providing photography training and equipment, will be curating an area of the exhibition, showcasing the stunning photography resulting from the workshops they have facilitated with women in developing countries. The LMP Gallery is an energetic and creative hub in Austin, Texas. This amazing organisation are also hosting an International Women’s Day show in parallel to Sweet ‘Arts London based exhibition and the two spaces will be exchanging 5 artworks to exhibit during the show run, in a display of international solidarity and connectedness! An archive of this cultural exchange will also be exhibited at each show. In addition to the thought provoking, well executed artworks guests attending the Y Not? private view evening can also enjoy welcome cocktails courtesy of Courvoisier along with the usual Sweet ‘Art freebies and surprises.
